Freddie Mercury Statue in Montreux during the Memorial Day 2012" title="Freddie Mercury Statue in Montreux during the Memorial Day 2012

Hi everybody! Over the last year I wrote several articles dedicated to Freddie's Montreux and they turned out to be quite popular among Queen's and Freddie Mercury's fans. I received a lot of personal feedback and for that, I thank you all!

Right now I'm looking forward to the upcoming 11th Freddie Mercury's Memorial Day which will take place, as usual, in Montreux and this time from 6th till 8th of September 2013. I'll be there on Saturday, 7th of September. Some of you have been asking me about the events of the upcoming Memorial Day, so, let's take a look at the programm which is also conveniently available at montreuxmusic.com, the official page of the event.

Microsoft's DreamSpark logo

Hi folks! This time I decided to write an article which will be extremely useful for some students. Although I have been taking advantages of the Microsoft’s DreamSpark program for the last two years, it recently became apparent to me that quite a lot of PC-oriented students are unaware of it. One reason for that could be that information about Microsoft’s MSDNAA is so not on the front page of your educational institution. Now, let’s see how you can get your copy of Windows 7 Professional (or 8, or XP) legally and absolutely for free.

Hello everybody! This one’s dedicated to all of the fellow students at ZHdK but might probably also be amusing for other music students. Of course, I hope people will apply certain sense of humour reading this. For past two years I played with a lot of wonderful musicians (and I would love to play with them again) a lot of whom I met accidentally. And, come on, it’s absolutely normal to contact people you never met in person in order to ask if they wanna play together. That’s how I met some great people. But let’s see how to be really annoying…

First of all, you need a great idea. It doesn’t really matter whether you want to play a recently discovered masterpiece octet for 7 violas and a glass harmonica...

Zakhar Bron Chamber - Impressions (Front Cover)" title="Zakhar Bron Chamber - Impressions (Front Cover)

It turned out to be quite tricky to avoid any quibble in the title of this article as the title of the recently released debut album of the Zakhar Bron Chamber orchestra is actually "Impressions" but I just decided to get on with what I got.

Even though I took part in this recording I could only get my hands on this beautifully packaged disc a couple of weeks ago. Despite having quite a thick booklet and an additional (looong) foldout poster featuring (almost) all of the participants, the liner notes do not give us much interesting information about the disc. So, I am glad to give you a little insight on this unique yet experimental release.

Stas Sagdeyev in front of the Freddie's Statue in Montreux

Hi there!!

It's been a long time indeed since I had something interesting posted here, not really because there was nothing interesting to write about. It was really a matter of time. Anyway, after I had posted some videos from the last Freddie Mercury Memorial Day in Montreux I received a good feedback from people along with requests to give some more information on what was happening in Montreux and particularly at the conference with Mike Moran. Finally, I'm ready to tell you the story.

As an already ten years tradition, the 10th Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day was held close to Freddie's birthday (5th of September) from the 31st of August till the 2nd of September 2012, and for the first time...
