Doryan Rappaz, Sandro Tigishvili and Stanislav Sagdeyev after the concert in Bern

Hi everybody! I happened to have a few spare minutes so I'd like to tell you about the project I got recently involved in.

I received a call from Sandro Tigishvili a few days after the concert in Zurich (I actually met Sandro for the first time during this project) asking me whether I can help with the premiere of his friend's new piece "Sérénade pour cordes" (serenade for strings) joining the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra.

I handwritten manuscript of 'I Wish...' poem

I know I haven't written anything in quite a few years but really... going back to Switzerland sure played a certain role ('cause there's so much to recall!) and I wrote a new poem I'm pleased to share with you.

And even though some may find a little bit of controversy hidden inside it's just not a thing to think about. I'm never making it a goal - "to write a poem". I just write down what sometimes comes to my mind (perhaps a bit polished verson of it).

Stanislav Sagdeyev, Nina Corti and Cristoforo Spagnuolo before the concert

Well, it happened yesterday. At last, a sold-out concert of Symphonisches Orchester Zürich took place in Tonhalle, a famous concert hall with 1600 seats. I have to say it was quite interesting to work with the conductor Cristoforo Spagnuolo and I wish sometimes in life I was as patient as he was during the rehearsals.

Anyway, it was not just another usual concert because we were happy to share the stage with the famous Swiss flamenco dancer Nina Corti. She had a special place built in the center of the stage.

Sasha Vitkovskiy showing the guitar on Skype

Hey!

I was just about to fall asleep after finishing some really late meal having returned from Zurich to> Bern when my Skype suddenly indicated an incoming call. It was my friend Sasha Vitkovskiy, guitarist known from the FFAD in Odessa project. He finally managed to get me here, even though I was expecting him to do this quite a few days ago.

Sasha has just got my guitar back from an expert who managed to do some adjustments to make it sound better, not to get out of tune every other minute and so on.

Stas and Max Bachmann (Bern, Summer of 2007)

Yesterday happened something I dare to call 'a meeting of the year'. As I am staying in Bern at the moment, I finally managed to meet my old Swiss friends: Max Bachmann, Markus Rösch and Samuel Jungen.

First time I met Mighty Mad Max (the drummer) it was back in 2002 during Ukrainian JSO tournée. It was the time when we had a concert (Swiss and Odessa young people) together at the Odessa philarmony and then we set off to Crimea in order to play a concert in Simferopol. I have to say we probably became friends back then and it was just great to meet up in the future on such occasions as...
