Daily Star: AIDS kills the king of rockHi!

Please read the following. It is very important.

Three years in a row I have been proudly participating in the worldwide anti-HIV/AIDS charity event "Freddie For A Day" and was planning to do it this year as well, however, due to the reasons beyond my control I was not able to fulfil my ideas here in Zurich but hopefully it will happen next year.

I have been proud to be a part of this major initiative of the Mercury Phoenix Trust for the last three years (first two years, in Odessa it was happening with indispensable help of my friend Alex Viktovskiy). The primary aim of spending one day dressed as Freddie Mercury is not showing how much we love Freddie but more making an effort to raise awareness among people, to emphasise the importance of life.

Now, I would like to remind you that HIV/AIDS problem is still a great threat for every one of us. Almost 5000 people die every day from the AIDS-related causes and another 7500 get infected. Should you fail to avoid unprotected sex or sharing needles while consuming drugs, this may result in catching a lethal disease which will ruin your life.

I encourage you to make the donation using the JustGiving widget on the right. Even the smallest amount makes a difference. All the money goes directly to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which is responsible for raising awareness and funding charities globally in the worldwide fight against AIDS.

Thank you for your attention.

Freddie For A Day is happening worldwide tomorrow, on the 5th of September.
